Description

Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coin The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coin is one of the most coveted in the world. Investors covet the .9999 pure gold content and the standard sugar maple leaf design on the coins has become a beacon to global buyers signifying quality. While the sugar maple leaf is the national icon, it is not the only species of maple leaf tree. The Royal Canadian Mints first-ever 1.5 oz gold coin was issued in 2017 with a distinctly different maple leaf design. The 2017 1.5 oz Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coin is now available to you for purchase online from Capital Bullion.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coin arrives inside of a protective plastic flip or tube of 15 coins!
  • 1st release of a 1.5 oz Gold Maple Leaf coin!
  • Contains 1.5 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of $150 (CAD) by Canada.
  • On the obverse is Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The reverse includes various sizes of leaves from the silver maple leaf species.
  • Designed by Stan Witten.

The silver maple leaf is one of the many different species of maple leaf trees on the North American continent. Featured in the reverse design of this particular Canadian Gold Megaleaf coin, the silver maple leaf species is common to southeastern Canada and the eastern and central regions of the United States. In fact, the silver maple leaf is the single most common tree in the United States of America.

Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coins offer a different species of tree in the design compared to the bullion Canadian Gold Maple Leaf. The latter coin features the sugar maple leaf, the tree and leaves associated with the national symbol of Canada as featured on the national flag. While a singular leaf is used in that coins design, the Gold Megaleaf actually features a cluster of silver maple leaves.

On the reverse of the 2017 1.5 oz Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coin is a design from Canadian artists Stan Witten. This image features a stem from the silver maple leaf tree that includes several small leaves still attached. This side of the coin has the micro-engraved maple leaf privy mark that offers additional security to this bullion specimen.

The obverse of 2017 Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coin includes the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This fourth-generation effigy of the Queen was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. Both sides of the Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coin have the precise radial lines in the background that the Royal Canadian Mint uses for enhanced bullion security.

These 2017 1.5 oz Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coins are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Individual specimens ship in protective plastic flips while multiples are available in tubes of 15 coins.
