Featured in the reverse design of this particular Canadian Gold Megaleaf coin, the silver maple leaf species is common to southeastern Canada and the eastern and central regions of the United States. In fact, the silver maple leaf is the single most common tree in the United States of America.
Canadian Gold Megaleaf Coins offer a different species of tree in the design compared to the bullion Canadian Gold Maple Leaf. The latter coin features the sugar maple leaf, the tree and leaves associated with the national symbol of Canada as featured on the national flag. While a singular leaf is used in that coins design, the Gold Megaleaf actually features a cluster of silver maple leaves.

This image features a stem from the silver maple leaf tree that includes several small leaves still attached.
